Crazy
Beans, 2003
Green-peas, black-beans, azuki-beans, yellow soia-beans,
aluminium tubes, colour, variable dimension
Crazy
Beans constitutes the idea of a particle, if in a green-pea, yellow soia-bean,
an azuki or a bleak-bean, in an instance of its continuous movement. Like
“quantistic jumps” where, according to Heisenberg, electrons
are able to move suddenly in an unexpected way the beans in my work launce
their selves into space creating an abstract drawing. The movement-line
has naturally the same colour as the bean that has produced it. Crazy
Beans reflects movement in its original substance: The dot is at the same
time and really a seed that creates a mobile spatial reality. The structure
of Crazy Beans is made of aluminium tubes shaped by hand and coloured.
They can be recomposed to create a new spatial constellation.

I find
substantial familiarity with Luce Spaziale (Spatial Light) a structure
of neon light made by Lucio Fontana for the Triennale of Milan in 1951.
Indeed, Fontana says of this work hat it is not a structure-figure but
the movement of drawing: It is the space-concept.
